Demos and rarities (1996-2008)
Mechanical Poet
Burning Coast
You may easily call it a very first Mechanical Poet song ever recorded. It was released on the 'Musica' compilation in 2001 under the name of Glazemaker. But it was Poet. Proto Poet if you wish.
Another Day (Baroque Version for String Septet & Harpsichord)
Dream Theater cover. A joke. That's how J.S.Bach could make it.
Troglodytes: Faeries
Troglodytes: Suspense
'Troglodytes' should be a third Mechanical Poet album, a follow up to 'Woodland'. A dark underground tale with eerie atmosphere. Some songs were lately rewritten or rearranged for 'Creepy Tales'. But some others are still waiting for their time. Here are two short themes that supposed to be main leitmotifs on 'Troglodytes'. Just to know what it looked like.
The Afterguide (Demo)
Lamplighter (Demo)
The Dead, The Living And The City (Demo)
American goblin
Another bunch of Mechanical Poet demos. Four songs recorded with band's original vocalist. First three were later rerecorded with Jerry on vocals and released as a part of 'Creepy Tales'. The quality is true demo, drums are plastic and some English words sound fishy but hey! It's just the demo and that's it.
Sproot
The Adventure Begins
This idea came a few months after the 'Woodland Prattlers' release. I suggested to Tom (ex-Mechanical Poet drummer) to join forces on a new project called Sproot (Octupus in Russian). The concept was to make a huge rock opera in the mad swashbuckling mood. Pirates, treasures, black sails, jolly rogers etc. It surely shouldn't be another ordinary rock opera with pirates. It had to be an adventure. Does anybody remember classic pirates movies? All these pathetic scenes and heroic music...Yes, that's exactly what I mean! Alas. We can't make it because of many various reasons. Just a few demo versions remained. Maybe someday...who knows? However something is better than nothing. Enjoy!
Swashbucklers
Armoury (Demo)
Main Theme (Fantastic)
Trailer music (Demo)
Here are some tracks that didn't fit for 'Swashbucklers' soundtrack. The same style but not exactly the same mood as producers said.
Radio Scores
Ghoulsmire
Artificial City
March Of Zombies
Grey Daemon/World Of Volcanos
Leo Swallowed Magic Powder!
Very old pieces written somewhere in 1996 or 1998 for a few radio spectacles. And all I had was an old dying computer with disastrous performance. Though the music was not bad at all. And the spectacles too. It was just...kinda DIY or indie, or maybe art house. Something just like that. :D
